if xbox fans really wants to get their hands on the elite then the not being reservable thing wouldn't really matter... they will still get one...

the thing is without it being reservable Microsoft will not be able to gauge the market properly as much as they would like to... the demand for a certain product changes constantly and you'd think they'd want something concrete to base their decisions on.
