Ó

I just loaded up Tekken 2 which I had ripped earlier on. I remember earlier today I played it on 3.03 OE-C and it did'nt fit the whole screen, it was a little off. But I just loaded it up now after upgrading to 3.10 OE-A and it fits perfectly. This is excellent news of course for all us PALies! No more graphical glitches or screen position problems. No more messing about with PAL to NTSC converters which are cubersome at times. Now with 3.10 OE-A our games work great. Now to convert all my games and enjoy Popstation without the hassle!

Converting to ATRAC3plus for Fake Memory Stick Owners.

Who's this for?
*Fake Memory Stick Users
*Or for people who want to convert their music to ATRAC3plus without copy protection.

Fake Memory Stick Check
On your 3.00+, 3.00+ devhooked or 3.02OE+ firmware go to the memory stick icon under photo, music, movie or game. Press triangle and go down to information and press X. If it says MagicGate Unknown it is a fake memory stick. If it says MagicGate Compatible it is a genuine memory stick.

Requirements?
*Fake Memory Stick
*Genuine Memory Stick or A blank CD

Explain?
After getting my fake Sony High Speed 2gb memory stick yesterday (An excellent gift from my friend ) I realised you cannot convert music to ATRAC3plus to a fake memory stick. I tried and Sonic Stage gave me an error saying it could'nt transfer. So I thought I would try a different method. I converted music to ATRAC3plus to my genuine memory stick using Sonic Stage. Then I went to the removeable disk and copied the OMGAUDIO folder out of the root of my genuine Sandisk Gaming 1gb memory stick to the root of my fake sony high speed 2gb memory stick. Sadly this did'nt work, as when you convert music to ATRAC3plus to a memory stick, copy protection is added allowing the songs to only play back on one PSP and on one computer. I thought I was doomed, but then one song was playing fine. This song I had converted to my hard disk earlier. So as a final throw of the dice I did this. I converted all the music to ATRAC3plus to my hard disk. Then I transferred the tracks to my genuine Sandisk Gaming 1gb memory stick. Then I copied the OMGAUDIO and pasted it onto my fake Sony High Speed 2gb memory stick, and hey what do you know, it was working fine.

Basically in other words there are two ways you can convert to ATRAC3plus using Sonic Stage. Either convert direct to a memory stick. The problem with this is that copy protection is added. But if you convert to your hard disk then you can choose whether to add copy protection or not.

The How-To and an example at the Full Article.

A clever chap named kgsws has made it possible for PSP users to change the XMB icons to any that they like! So far its not possible to do it with the 3.02 topmenu plugin, which means that if you want to do this you will lose the icons not present in 2.50.
Custom Icons

Here is a wonderful guide by zmathue:

You can use the 2.6 topmenu then you can have the rss icon but you cant change the menu names.
  1. Edit the pics in kgsws's app with the color in the first slot in the pallet as transparency
  2. Run his app
  3. Open both the new topmenu_plugin in an hex editor and the 2.5 one
  4. Subtract the offset of beginning of the icons(94cc) in the new topmenu from the beginning of icons in 2.5 (c20c)

    .c20c
    -94cc
    2df4

  5. So go to the ending of the icons in the new topmenu which is indicated by the last of 5 paddings of FF get the offset(fa4f)
  6. Now add the offset that we just got and add it to the number we totaled up earlier and you get

    .2df4
    +cd0f
    fb03

  7. Now in both files highlight from the begging of the icons to the end using the offsets we just found
  8. Copy from the new topmenu to the 2.5 one
  9. If the hex editor says file size may change click ok and erase some of the ff padding till the end offset is the one it was before
  10. Flash

logoSo you got all happy after the release of the latest B revision of the 3.02OE by DAX, but then you happened to dwell across some sad bit of information. If you are from Europe/Australasia then your good old PAL copies were going to behave badly when being played. But don't fret! If any of your PAL games are causing nuasances then just use this converter to get your images into NTSC flavour.

Enjoy it. Remember test your PAL games first, or look around the forums because some do work fine.
