Quoted from Art's website :

-Flash V17f

Ok Guys, The space remaining figure is currently derived by subtracting the amount of space used from 24Mb. This is rather generous, but will do until I do an algorythm for esimating the free space more accurately.

The change log is as follows :

New for X-Flash V17f:
- Improved speed startup trick.
- Fixed accept agreement sound.

Freeplay

I managed to get a hold of FreePlay, a psp homebrew developer. One of his most noted accomplishments is his port for File Assistant into TIFF format. He was willing to let me interview him. This is what I got:

Antonyfl : Tell me a bit about yourself.

FreePlay  : I'm a 23-year-old college student in Michigan, studying technical writing... I've been programming since I was eight years old, and I've mostly taught myself. I bought my first PSP last July and immediately jumped into the homebrew scene.

Antonyfl : What do you do in your past time besides making homebrew?

FreePlay : I play a lot of video games, go to class, work in a grocery store. Occasionally I go out with friends. I'm currently a pretty busy guy, so not much free time :/

Antonyfl : Are you currently/thinking about working on some homebrew projects?

FreePlay : I'm semi-working on a port of a program I wrote for the TI-89, which was a port of a game called Bubblet. if you've ever played the SameGame, it's pretty much the same thing. I played the original game on my Palm V over 3000 times, so I think it might be a hit :)

Antonyfl : Are you going to be working on any other projects that don't involve TIFF games?

FreePlay : Maybe :) . I've got a couple unreleased things that I might release... eventually... Right now I'm just waiting to get my bricked PSP back with its shiny new mod chip. A while back, Adrahil and I worked together on a module for Devhook that spat out the savedata encryption key for any game that tried to load a savegame. if we ever decide to release it, it could lead to a much easier way to mess around with savegames.

The full article awaits after the jump!

Socom FTB2 Sad

A sad day for the world of homebrew today for after the exciting release of Socom Fireteam Bravo 2, it has confirmed that 2.81 firmware is required to play the infrastructure mode of Socom FTB2. Currently no program can emulate 2.81 ( We need you BOOSTER !) even though the firmware update file is cracked, there is no homebrew application to run 2.81. So now you have a choice. Succumb to the Dark Side (Sony's psp updates and firmware) or stay within the lighted path and hope that one day a developer will come along and save the day. (Or maybe hope that the rumors about Sony finally allowing homebrew to come true?) I for one am staying with my 1.50 firmware (Or maybe to 2.71 when I feel it is neccessary) but I will not update unless Sony lets homebrew play for the psp.

More news to come!

Vulcanus Online is a Mech style fighting game much like Armored Core and Virtua On. This game is being made by Zepetto Studios(A team made up of 9 Korean people. Wow!!). The gameplay in the temporary design for Voucanus Online has players as mercenary agents banking off of the disasters of global warming that brought the world to the brink of extinction in the year 2100. Land masses have changed, oceans have fallen, and broad deserts are left in the lands that have been both flooded and scortched.

Only about 20% of the Earth is still inhabitable, and the survivors from China, the Unites States, Europe and the remanents of Asia all battle for control of what's left of the world. You and your mech will battle across different terrains to find fortune while helping to turn the tides of the war. This is the World of Vulcanus Online.

As you can tell from that description, in layman's terms, it is basically a Mech game with various terrains and different modes, mechs and apparently a spiffy plot line. The typical Mech fighting game? Who knows... something might make this game different and stand out from the other mech fighting games(If it has online infrastructure that would be excellent!!!) or it may just an Armored Core rip. You decide and say what you will about it. More updates to come!
