This was brought to my attention by friends at Orphic Inc. ( http://orphicinc.proboards62.com/ )

Ultimate Installers v1.5.3 and 1.5.4? At the same time?!

Posted on December 6th, 2006 in DevHook, Applications by Chaos Zero

I?m releasing both versions at the same time.

Why? Well 1.5.3 uses my method, with the ?DevHook Setup.bat? file, and 1.5.4 uses tommydanger?s installer.

I had 1.5.3 already made at the time, so instead of simply scraping it, I?ll release it as well.

Both include the options:

  • DevHook 0.51
  • ISOConv
  • ISO Compressor
  • Content Manager

The only difference is 1.5.3 has the 3.01 firmware (it says 2.82, it?s a typo), 1.5.4 has the 3.02 firmware, not that it matters.

I am also adding an experimental 333MHz fix. It should allow WiFi at 333MHz.

For 1.4.5, you can choose to install the Audio and WLAN fix by running the ?Experimental 333 Fix.bat? file, after you run the firmware installer. For 1.5.3, you have the option to run the ?DevHook Setup.bat? by itself, or the ?DevHook Setup (Inc. WiFi Fix).bat?. Choose one or the other.

Instructions

For 1.5.4, run the Ultimate Installer, and run the DevHook installer under your game menu. If you decide to use the 333 fix, plug your PSP back into your computer and run the ?Experimental 333 Fix.bat? file.
For 1.5.3, click Read More or click here.

????????????-

v1.5.3 Instructions

1. Run the Ultimate Installer v1.5.3 to put all files on your memory stick.

2. On your PSP, go to your GAME menu. Select PSAR Dumper.

3. When the PSAR Dumper loads, press X.

4. There will be lines of text on your PSP.
The 3.01 firmware is now being put on your PSP?s memory stick.

5. When the dumper is complete, turn off your PSP, not just standby, but right off.

6. Turn your PSP on and activate the USB Connection.

7. On your memory card root, you will see a newly created F0 folder.

8. Run the file ?DevHook Setup.bat? to run the normal setup, or ?DevHook Setup (Inc. WiFi Fix).bat? to run the setup plus 333MHz WiFi fix.
9. After the confirmation that the setup is complete, disconnect the USB and go to your GAME menu. Launch DevHook 0.50.

It is still unclear if the next instructions, 10 to 12, are required or optional. I say try without first, then do it after you have entered the XMB and set up all your options.

10. Go to the ?FLASH ROM? menu.

11: If you flashed the DevHook files from DevHook 0.46, remove those first.

12: Choose ?flash1: < ms0: install configfile". Press circle.

13: Choose firmware 3.01 in the ?FIRMWARE? menu and press ?START?

14: When you enter DevHook, A blue screen will appear saying your setting are corrupt. Press O to solve this.

And here it is. This is the bes thing that has happened to the scene for a while. While there is no 3.00, it still rules.
Chaos Zero has yet again created a wonderful little program. WE owe him much thanks. I my self find Devhook to be of great help.

Booster will Hopefully be releasing the big 3-OH on cHristmas its self

With the undeniably suspicious lack of updates or news from Strmnnrmn sincemario
September 25, and looking all the way back to august 25 when the speedy R8 was released,
We cant halp but ponder on wether or not the coding genius has come to a

dead end in his brave attempt to bring an emulator that was once a god send for low spec PC owners, to
our beloved handheld, we have all drempt of playing zelda OOT on our psp's in all its glory, and with strmnnrmn onour side, their was that small glimmer of hope. But now it seems with the lack of news or updates on strmnnrmns blog, people are starting to worry.
But we need to remember that coders can be put under alot of strain by the pressure of the scene,if you dont believe me, look at what Psmonkey had to go through when he believed it was better to show a few screenshots and videos every now and then instead of constantly coding and compiling minor updates.
Its possable that this is why strmnnrmn hasnt updated lately, maby he is onto somthing big, maby hes reached some trouble in gaining them few crucial FPS, or maby hes just taking a break, we all have a life away from the scene (at least i hope so :P), so let him do his thing and im sure we wont be dissapointed.

Bochs Logo

Ever wanted to run Windows CE on your Bochs PSP x86 emulator?  Well it's easier than you think, and yota from our forums has figured it out.

Here are the steps to make the Bochs Image:

1 - Download image for Virtual PC from here.

2 - Create a new image disk in Boch like for the Win95 prototype (http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-homebrew-...ighlight=win95)

3 - Like for Win95, run FDISK and FORMAT (use /S to make it bootable)

4 - Download the latest WinImage and install it

5 - Open the WinCE image you downloaded in 1 with WinImage and extract all the files into a temp folder. Delete Command.com file in the temp folder.

6 - Close Bochs, open the Bosch image with WinImage and Inject all the files from the temp folder into the Bochs image (except Command.com that was deleted previously).

7 - Change the memory allocation in the bochsrc.bxrc from 8 to 32 megs (I think "this" is the main problem for running on the PSP)

8 - Boot the Bochs image from the C: drive with Bochs. You will have a warning, just continue the emulation. That's it, WinCE should be loaded...

9 - Change the bochsrc.bxrc file according to the Win95 but with 32 megs and copy the image to the PSP

See? It's as easy as that.  Now, go have fun with Windows CE on your PSP :D
