This idea actually came to me in a dream believe it or not lol. i dreamed of HOW to do it, figured it out in my dream, woke up, tried it same way i did it in dream, worked. some may already know about this...bleh lol

Using CheatMaster To Hack ANY HomeBrew Application!

What does this mean?
Snes9x, gpSP, Rin, Irshell, or even Devhook itself is now hackable.
What does THIS mean?
Well, be it a standalone user created homebrew game, or an emulator. you can hack it JUST like you do with PSP games.
me and krio have been hacking the crap outa GBA and SNES games like crazy. and so far, no problems. and best thing is, the codes ARE permenant! so you can make a hack, and share with the world!

Not only are we hacking PSP games now, but pretty much EVERYTHING that works with a PSP! including the actual firmware!
hacking some of these emus etc on PC, can be a bit frustrating. but with this CM simple mod of a file, its easy as cake.
there WILL be tutorials on how to hack specific stuff, like GBA games for example. or maybe how to hack TWEAKS for shells, loaders or what have yah. some HB programs i have seen and used, have "limitations". well with this mod, those limitations can be manipulated just as you manipulate psp games themselves.

This is why i said that you game hackers will have a ball! i hate friggin pokemon, but how kool is it to use CheatMaster, the PSP game hacking program we have all grown to know and love, to hack a code for Emerald that allows you to walk thru walls? or to Catch trainers pokemon lol. to do this on pc, using other tools to me, is way harder then using CM to do it.
especialy hacking those classic snes games! i used to have to take my SAVE STATES in emus, put em on my PC, hack em using an emulator, then re-save, and transfer back to psp. pain in the ass and LESS successfull. not anymore!

Alot of you may outcast this as stupid, and wasnt worth the wait. well, you arent into hacking the way alot of us here at OHG are. you name it, you can do it with this modification.
Its as simple as, booting devhook, choosing 1.50 FW so that you go back to XMB, still in 1.50, which allows you to re-execute any HB app. but becuzz we cycle thru devhook, this "enables" cheatmaster. just add an extraline into one text file, and this allows CM to not just run after dev is booted, in a game. but to run in anything!

Heres how to install this mod, and use it.

HOW TO INSTALL CM SO YOU CAN HACK HOMEBREW

1) Plug PSP into USB drive on computer
2) Open it and go to DH/150F/flash0/kd folder
3) in that folder edit the pspbtcnf.txt file as well as the pspbtcnf_game.txt files.
4) in pspbtcnf.txt text file add the following line

ms0:/dh/kd/CheatMaster.prx

underneath ms0:/dh/kd/umdciso.prx and then save it.

You will setup your pspbtcnf_game.txt file just like you do when you installed CM originally. if ur new, then go to
downloads section www.onehitgamer.com, and download CM+Hack Guide, unzip the CM file, and read the readme, which shows how to setup CM for any firmware. mod these 2 files in the 150F folder, NOT 150. After your done, save your files.
5) Load up devhook and select ANY iso/umd, then in firmware, choose 1.50 FLASH not 1.50. set MHZ to 333. Start.
6) Now when you load up the 1.50 flash FW, press whatever button you have CM menu set to. it may take several presses, but it will come up in XMB. this lets you know you are all done and installed this modification correctly!

Simply load up ANY homebrew app or game (this is mainly for games/emus)
Now SOME games/emus, CM may not come up in certain parts, for example, loading, or in the EMUS menu. SOMETIMES.
if you have gotten this far, your done! start hacking your programs and games as you would psp games!

So far, only ONE major problem exists with this mod. when you use CM to hack a psp game, find your codes, then choose to SAVE them to the TABLE, it generally labels the hacks with the games REGION code and game NAME. well, since
CM wasnt made for hacking anything BUT psp games, there IS NO LABEL! so when you save hacks to say the 1rst table slot, is will just be an EMPTY and BLANK slot. you can still select it and view your hacks, but you wont know what slot you saved em to unless you remember or write em down. slot 1: pokemon emerald hacks. slot 2: chrono trigger snes. etc etc.
What i generally do here is IN the actual archive table of your hacks, simple add a BLANK hack, and make the hack name, the name of your game. put settings to "address" at 0x00000000 and value at 0x00000000 and DO NOT LOCK IT.
this way, included with all your hacks for whatever prog/game, you also will see the NAME so you know what those hacks was for. but still best to write them on paper or type em.

And so far, they seem to be permenant codes! krio sent me a code he hacked for pokemon emerald, and i used it, and it worked! so we can now have a NEW archive section!

New Archive Coming Soon:
Homebrew Code Archive

Which will have sub-catagories like SNES/GBA/HB Games/Applications etc etc.

I do hope you all find this as exciting as we do! if you dont, just give it a try and you will see how wide-open the psp's skirt is now that you can hack EVERYTHING!

Enjoy!

CheatMaster, CWCheat, Cheat Hacker, Unit-Terror...oh wait, that doesnt belong in this catagory lol

Which ever tool be your choice weapon,  you can manipulate your games with ease. since the release of all of these tools, users are invited to learn and master code creation on there psp. similar to the Gameshark or the Codebreaker, you can now create and use codes made by everyday people. be it basic, be it advanced. Unit-Terror and crew have Owned the socom scene creating the most outstanding and insane modifications you can imagine. now its your turn!

There are many places on the net where you can go to learn hacking skillz. it wont happen overnight, but it will happen. not every game is completely hackable using these 3 tools since games like socom or syphon filter require more advanced methods and PC tools. but about 95% of psp games are easily modifiable to the point you can share your own codes with other users around the world.

Whilst CWCheat in its current stage is wonderfull for code usage, CheatMaster takes the lead with code creation.

i myself, run a website that is dedicated to them all. if you wish to learn to hack games, then the possibility is there for you to learn.

The MAIN reason i made this post on QJ is, theres still alot of people that are left in the dark about psp code creation and i would like to invite them to join the race and show the world your hacking talents!

These programs are to be used with devhook 4.x, besides Cheat Hacker, its stand alone.

Links to these wonderfull programs:

  • CWCheat: http://cwcheat.zioale.it/
  • CheatMaster: http://dl.qj.net/CheatMaster-v0.5-PSP/pg/12/fid/9987/catid/114
  • Cheat Hacker: http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Cheat-Hacker-Ver-0.12-General-Apps-PSP-Homebrew-Applications/pg/12/fid/7683/catid/151

Some examples of what can be doen with these programs:

Your basic hacks like Infinite Ammo, Infinite health, is just the begining. the more you use these tools, the more you learn new methods on creating the best codes. i myself, have made "Walk Thru Walls" hacks for games like Monster Hunter, Breath of Fire 3. i have also, using only these tools, have made hacks like "Moon Jump" in games like Splinter Cell. your imagination is the limit. if its on screen, you can modify it. games like socom is another story, because they use more advanced methods of blocking you from hacking, hence the reason you would need other tools.

If you wanna learn how to master your games, or even to request a code to be made,

Nothing grand, but a decent spot to stop and learn. i made this site for this reason, and this reason only. for you. we have hacks like, "Mega Cheat Pack" for monster hunter freedom, made by our very own moderator "tot31", among other hacks.

Enjoy.
